Welcome to the Office

A work in progress.

The Office is where ideas, experiences, and lessons come together.

Some are ready to share. Some still need a little work. And some are simply thoughts I’m still trying to figure out.

You’ll find books, reflections, conversations, ideas, and maybe a little motivation along the way.

The Office is always a work in progress—as we all should be.

Come in. Take a look around.

Take a look at this for me. Thoughts?

“Learn the Lay of the Land.”

You do not have to prove you are the smartest person in the room on Day 1.

True value is not demonstrated by how quickly you speak—but by how wisely you observe, learn, and contribute.

Observation is not hesitation. It is preparation.

You do not walk into a room with the intent to change it—you walk in to understand it first. Then you earn the right to influence it.

Lessons worth holding on to.

The good ones are timeless—even when they were funny, painful, complicated, or completely unwanted at the time.

Lessons have a way of showing up in unexpected places. Some come through conversations or mistakes. Some become books, essays, or posts. Others simply stay with us.

And then there are moments when we look back and are simply glad... they didn’t get lost along the way.

The one who showed up for me. Every day.

“Showing up is therapeutic”

On a hot Texas Sunday, I found a dog lying in the shade of my driveway. I gave her some water, and she stayed. The next day, I learned she had no owner and that if I didn't take her, she would be put down—so I showed up for her.

It wasn't long before I realized she was showing up for me, too. Every day. Jumps, smiles, excitement—like seeing me was the best part of her day.

She became one of the greatest forms of therapy in my life, simply because I showed up for her when no one else seemed to care.
